CENTRAL DAILY COMLocke Lord Strategies to Represent the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the United States
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has retained Locke Lord Strategies, the Washington, D.C. based public affairs and government relations entity of Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP, to represent it in the United States. Leading the team representing Pakistan is Partner Mark Siegel who has long ties with the leadership of the new democratically elected government of Pakistan. He served as Pakistan's Washington lobbyist from 1988-1990 and then again from 1993-1996.

Under the contract, Locke Lord Strategies will work to support the Embassy by developing and implementing government and communications strategies. Locke Lord Strategies will assist Pakistan to promote better understanding of Pakistan's efforts to support U.S. objectives, working to utilize effective strategies to project key messages; will work to assist Pakistan to promote the enhancement of the Embassy's dialogue with U.S. leaders and government officials in order to encourage better understanding of the country's recent political, social and economic developments; and will devise and help implement a comprehensive strategy to assist Pakistan to communicate and promote a more accurate and balanced message regarding common U.S.-Pakistan interests, and of the important changes taking place in Pakistan in the political, economic and social spheres.
